stargatesg1971: (jack - 2010)

I know this isn't 'our' Jack but the blue crystal entity posing as him in Cold Lazarus clearly relives his horror, grief and regret for not locking his gun away and causing the death of his son, so I'm using this scene to fill the prompt. Personally, I prefer the colour version because it's more pleasing to the eye but I think the de-saturated one seems to project more angst so I'm posting both versions.

It's such an angsty scene, I'm glad you think I've done it justice. Thanks, Leesa!

These are wonderfully angsty. I have a slight preference for the black and white one but they are both lovely.

I think b/w and/or a de-saturated look works well with angst. Thanks for the feedback and letting me know which one you preferred out of the two versions!

They are both gorgeous. The black and white one even more upsetting. Can you imagine how a dad would feel? Makes me shudder. Very nicely done.

Thanks, Patt! Yes, I agree the b/w one is way more angsty and upsetting, somehow the colour tones enhance his anguish. And like you, the thought of how he would feel makes me shudder too. The guy needs a hug.

RDA acts so well in this scene. The angst just drips off him. Thanks for the lovely feedback.

Very powerful. Great depiction of the scene and his pain. And it is Jack's pain even if we wer filtering through the entity (one of their early brilliant things as Jack would never share it where we could get it).

The color one is lovely but I think the desaturated one, especially with the slight blurring, is the more powerful and impactful for me.

Thanks for the detailed and lovely feedback, hon!! RDA does a great job of projecting Jack's pain in this episode, this scene in particular really pulls at the heart strings...well, and the one at the end where Charlie touches him. And you're right, we'd never see such raw anguish from the real Jack even though we all know it's there beneath the surface.

I think b/w or desaturated pieces always ramp up the anguish and make a piece more powerful. It's surprising how much of a difference it makes. Thanks for letting me know which one worked best for you.

Well done. Seriously very well done. I like both versions too but, yeah, the mostly b/w one packs a heck of a punch.

Both fantastic, but the B&W for me is the one, plus the splash of blood red in the middle. Fine work.

Thanks for the lovely feedback and for letting me know which one works best for you! I find bw artwork can often evoke more of an emotional response than a coloured version does. ♥

Saw the two new walls from Jack and thought they were both awesome. Jack's experience from the death of his son, was deeply felt by us stargate fans. Nice artistic work on your part on these two new walls.

Thanks! I think the colour tones make the same wall different somehow. And you're right, the experience of Charlie's death had a profound effect on Jack and his fans too. Such a poignant moment.
