I fancied having a go at digital art so I bought myself a pencil to use on my tablet. It's gonna take some practise because I'm quite heavy handed and the harder you press the darker it goes, I tried to be gentle but as you can see I wasn't always successful; going forwards I'll make a note of the nib size too because on reflection I can see how important that is. I really need to work on my shading but I'm quite happy with my first attempt so I'm posting it here.

I used one of my favourite screen caps from the pilot and attempted to copy it. I can recognise it's Jim so YAY!

For a first attempt, that is extremely good! I've got a bamboo pad (someone gave it me) and, well, not up your standard by any means!!

I did play with the pencil for a while before I attempted anything serious. I’m not being as successful with Rodney. 🙁

EDIT: I’ve never heard of a Bamboo pad before, have fun with it and remember practise makes perfect. I do hope you’ll share some of your creations.

Congrats! Great job! Welcome to digital art!
I've been trying to take the plunge into digital art myself for at least a year (my iPad has been my main device for a few year) but I don't think I'd ever try drawing faces or anything like that.

I'd love to be able to draw and paint things such as landscapes, etc. But, reallistically speaking, I don't think I'll ever be able to do that. So I'm focusing my efforts on something easier. Right now my goal is creating digital resources such as templates and clipart for some apps I use. For example, I'd like to be able to create stuff like this:

These look great and I can see you doing a good job and having fun with this kind of thing. I really like the travel journal idea and the clip art. Enjoy dabbling and please share your efforts. I’d love to see what you come up with.

I’m pondering on trying flowers next.
