I see where you're coming from and I did ponder over that myself, in the end I figured slashers of the show would interpret it that way if they wanted to and left it at that. Maybe that was why I labelled it 'implied slash' on A03?

The box does have rounded edges but it is very subtle and it gets hidden a lot by the angle and blurred edging.
